DVHL
Disabled Veterans Hockey League
The Pittsburgh Warriors Disabled Veterans Hockey League (DVHL) is an internal recreational league designed for honorably discharged veterans with service-connected disabilities under the motto "Healing Thru Hockey."
To provide an organized venue for disabled veterans by establishing a competitive, fun, safe, and sportsmanlike hockey league where balanced competition and healing matter more than outcomes.
DVHL Philosophy
- Attitude first: no checking and no disruptive play.
- All skill levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced players.
- Skill self-evaluations are used to build balanced teams through draft and cap logic.
- Attendance and team reliability are program expectations.
- All participants must be Pittsburgh Warriors members.
- Current USA Hockey number is required for official qualification windows.
- If a veteran needs equipment and has never played, the program provides equipment and training.
- Every player gets equal ice time regardless of ability.
